About JEANZ

JEANZ’s passion for music started at the age of 6 when he was given a recorder for his birthday. Since then, he has learnt how to play the trumpet, piano, pipe organ and tin whistle. Throughout high school he focused on his music and progressed with trumpet/cornet achieving trinity ATCL with distinction and a NZQA scholarship in music performance. In piano he has achieved grade 8 ABRSM with distinction. He came to Ara Institute of Canterbury after high school, trying out electrical engineering for one semester, but felt music was a much better fit so decided to switch over. He is now completing his final year of a Bachelor of Music, specialising in Music Production. Throughout his years at Ara, he has been inspired by his tutor Kamandi as both a mentor and artist. He will play with the New Zealand Army Band when he finishes his degree, along with being a producer, film composer and sound/recording engineer with his company JEANZ Production Ltd.
